about

This song was written in response to a "Song March" challenge in which you pen a song encompassing how you felt the day the 2017 election results were announced. The song is a short one, with only 2 verses and a chorus and thats partially how I felt...at a loss. A discordant guitar solo towards the end adds to the tension and confusion and anger I felt.

Music is therapeutic in that way I suppose.

lyrics

the tension is growing thin / and the gaslights been slowly dimming
it leaves me here wondering / is anyone paying any attention to this?

but these are the darker days / these are the darker days
these are the darker days / won't someone start a fire and burn it all down

the tightening of the rope / the loss of remaining hope
its a slippery and vicious slope that we've all been paving

but these are the darker days / these are the darker days
these are the darker days / won't someone start a fire and burn it all down
